On the back: the names of the seventy-two companions of Imam Husayn (AS) at Karbala, arranged to form the number 72.

Above the names: Imam Husayn (AS).

To wear this is to carry seventy-two names on your back.

These are the companions who refused to leave when Imam Husayn (AS) released them from their oath the night before Ashura. Each one stayed when given permission to go. None of them did so anonymously.

In majlis, they are remembered one by one. On Ashura, they are remembered by their stand. On Arbaeen, the road to Karbala fills with millions walking in their footsteps.

This piece is for that remembrance. Not symbolic. Literal — their names, on your back, as you walk where they would have wanted you to walk.
